Leymebamba



Information:

Leymebamba is located 80 kilometers south of Chachapoyas. It is a small, colonial, cozy town with a pleasant climate, located on the eastern bank of the Marañón River, at 2,200 meters above sea level, with a population of 5,600 inhabitants. Leymebamba became known in 1997, thanks to the discovery of the remains of the Laguna de los Cóndores. These remains are currently on display at the Leymebamba Museum, inaugurated in 2002. It also has other tourist attractions such as archaeological remains and funerary complexes, including La Laguna de los Cóndores, La Congona, Molinete, Cataneo, La Petaca.
